Checksum vs. Hash: Differences and Similarities ?

Checksum vs. Hash: Differences and Similarities ? What are similarities and differences between a "checksum" algorithm and a "hash" function? Can they be used instead of each other? Or their usage are different? For example, for verifying the integrity of a text, which one is better to be used? https://ift.tt/2xIeN9j

Unsecure transaction?

Unsecure transaction? I transferred bch to an electrum wallet address and haven't ever received it because electrum uses only btc. As I have been trying to recover it I looked up the transaction on explorer.bitcoin.com and it was input but has also been output 5 times and the balance shows 0. So it would appear that someone has access. How is that possible? Shouldn't it be secure? Do I have any sort of recourse? https://ift.tt/2zofJ50

I am doing something wrong

I am doing something wrong I am one of those people who transferred BCH from bitcoinpurser.com into my electrum wallet that only takes BTC. I have read several articles and have installed and created an elctroncash wallet. I can see that the two have successfully synchronized but on both the transaction still shows as pending. I originally transferred the BCH on September 5. I created the electron cash wallet on the 19th. I would think that it should have come through by now. Shouldn't it? How long does it usually take? So, I am wondering if I sent it to the correct address. Is there a way for me to check that? I have a crypto address from bitcoinpurser when I sent them. https://ift.tt/2ptaOd8
