transaction stuck in status “0/unconfirmed, in memory pool”

So on November 20th ive send 2.00024727 BTC from my Bitcoin Core wallet to an external address. This transaction has been unconfirmed for a whole week now, and Id very much like to know what happened to my money. Ive checked the address ive send it to and it definitely hasnt arrived yet (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/34DSvez8o96XkeqxqZ9bEPSz9ZA4GmyvDK / https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/34DSvez8o96XkeqxqZ9bEPSz9ZA4GmyvDK).

My guess was that it was taking so long because of the selloff, but as im writing this the transaction backlog is sitting at a mere 2500 unconfirmed.

Transaction ID is b273f068b3e42de031702184e0605f6db1bacd62c29c4dc5c9bec286ffa58e1b.

How generic miner connects to bitcoin or ethereum network and does it needs to store entire blockchain? Suppose I want to design generic crypto currency miner starting from scratch . By generic I mean it can be configured to support a large number of available crypto currencies. How this miner knows to mine coins for bitcoin as opposed to ethereum coin (ETH), for example ? For ethereum it will connect to etherium P2P network and what is the network address OR there are some kind of API exposed by ethereum network which it invokes? Assume this generic miner directly connects to crypto currency network for the purpose of mining coins without mining pools. Does it needs to store entire blockchain of the crypto currency in local disk storage?
